Arenas elected FAIR R1 prexy

ATTY. Napoleon B. Arenas, Jr., a Dagupeño, was unanimously elected president of the Federation of Voluntary Arbitrators (FAIR) in Region 1 during elections held in San Fernando City, La Union on February 19, 2010. Arenas is also the auditor of the Philippine Association of Voluntary Arbitrators nationwide (PAVA).

The other elected officers are Atty. Donato Caloza, vice president; Atty. Nenita Balloquing, secretary; Rizalino Uson Jr., treasurer; Atty. Cesar Junio, auditor; and Atty. Ferdinand Concubierta, PRO. The members of the board are lawyers Marlyn Hidalgo, Rodolfo Yabes, Villamor Tolete and Mr. Constante Ordono.

After the election of FAIR officers, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between the National Conciliation and Mediation Board Region 1, Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), Pangasinan and San Fernando, La Union chapters, and PAVA to recognize the importance of voluntary arbitration in settling labor disputes. It commits the government agencies to cooperate with the local IBP chapters in information dissemination and education of its members.

DAGUPEÑO IS FAIR R1 HEAD–Atty. Napoleon Arenas Jr. from Dagupan is inducted as president of FAIR R1 by Director Carmina Alonso of the National Conciliation and Mediation Board, Region I.
