APSCU holds biennial convention in Dagupan
THE Association of Private Schools, Colleges and Universities (APSCU) in Region 1 recently held its two-day biennial convention, with the theme: APSCU Responding to the New Challenges in Education and Environment”, at the Leisure Coast Resort and Hotel in Dagupan City.
APSCU president Macarthur Samson Sr. of the University of Luzon said the convention coincided with a seminar on how to improve teaching methods as well as a talk on climate change.
Some of the topics discussed were: “The First Class Teacher” by Gloria Beltran, president of the Linkages of Pre-School Educators of the Philippines; “New Strategies in Teaching the Gifted Children” by Danielle Arellano, director of Mother Goose Playskool and Grade School in Manila; and “Reading Strategies” by Aurora Samson-Reyna, the national president of the Reading Association of the Philippines; and “Climate Change Adaptation” by Director Joel Salvador of the Environment Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
An election for the new set of officers of APSCU was also held on the last day of the event.
