Provincial employees get 3rd salary hike
LINGAYEN—It’s still Christmas in January for provincial employees.
Another salary increase was given provincial officials and employees at the start of the year when the Modification of the Compensation and Classification System in the Government took effect this month.
This was the third salary increase effected since the start of the administration of Governor Amado Espino Jr. in July 2007.
The first two increases were implemented during the first 18 months of his administration, while the latest is pursuant to Senate and House of Representatives Joint Resolution No. 4, Series 2009, Executive No. 811 signed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on June 17, 2009.
Provincial Treasurer Ramon Crisostomo said that the province has enough financial resources to ensure the implementation of the new salary increase.
“We are lucky because we are financially stable to sustain this while other local government units cannot implement the scheme,” Crisostomo said.
The casual employees of the provincial government are now entitled to a daily basic pay of P311.90 from the previous daily wage of P279.50 while the salary rates for permanent LGU personnel will be determined by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan on the basis of LGU income class and financial capability.—LM
