SAN JACINTO—Rep. Jose de Venecia Jr.  continued to play Santa Claus in the fourth district of Pangasinan, this time by hosting some 2,500 indigent children to hearty breakfasts from December 26 to 28, in celebration of his birthday.

Mrs. Gina de Venecia personally served the children’s breakfast, consisting of luncheon meat, rice, boiled eggs and noodles.

The hosted children were chosen by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

There were 800children who were served breakfast in Mangaldan, 600 in San Jacinto, 500 in Dagupan City, and 300 each in Manaoag and San Fabian.

The feeding project is a part of the couple’s alleviation program for the poor and street children.

Mrs. de Venecia, then head of the Congressional Espouses Foundation Inc. set up a ‘Haven for Children’ in Bonuan Binloc that provided care and comfort to street children. –LM
