Dagupan City fiesta hailed to a success
COUNCILOR Karlos Reyna, hermano mayor of Dagupan’s fiesta in December 2009, was heaped with praises for a successful organization.
Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez congratulated Reyna for a “job well done” that made the fiesta “very, very successful”.
“From event one to the last event, all were very much well-attended,” said Fernandez.
Among the highlights of the fiesta were the “Binyagang Bayan” and the first of its kind ‘Disneyland Costume Ball’, both held at CSI Stadia. Both events will now be regular features of future fiestas.
The colorful culminating activity last December 30, the “Pawil Dagupan”, held at the Senior Citizens Park was attended by some 100 overseas Dagupenos based in the US and Europe.
Heading the overseas Dagupenos was Rex Catubig, the event chairman and composer of the Dagupan Hymn, together with Fr. Weng Escano and a Fr. Songcuan.
Fernandez said the fiesta celebration helped stimulate the city’s economy further.
She also hailed the organizers of the homecoming of the Dagupan City National High School for the impressive attendance this year by the alumni.–LM
