2,560 suspects arrested in 2009

LINGAYEN—A total of 2,560 people suspected to be involved in crimes were arrested by the police around the province in 2009, according to a report from the police provincial office here.

Senior Supt. Percival Barba, police provincial director, said of this number, 880 were nabbed with warrants of arrest while the bigger chunk was in flagrante delicto, meaning the suspect was caught in the act of committing an offense.

It was in October that the highest number of arrests was recorded with 284, followed by September with 267, and November with 247.

December had the lowest data for the number of arrested persons with only 114.#
