LINGAYEN—The Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council (PDCC) and its attached agencies led an earthquake drill last week at the Pangasinan State University (PSU) Lingayen Campus.

The activity was part of the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill for calendar year 2009.

As sirens blared during the drill, students evacuated from their classrooms and converged at the university’s football field where they took on the “duck, cover and hold” position, while rescue teams roamed the campus to locate and “save” lives.

PDCC Executive Officer Paterno Orduna led a minute of silence and prayer for all the victims of past calamities before the exercise. —PIO
