P1.2 M worth of livelihood projects distributed to women’s groups
LINGAYEN–The provincial government distributed P1.2 million to some 11 small and medium enterprises managed by women through the province’s Livelihood Assistance Program last week.
According to Provincial Population Officer Luzviminda Muego, the latest distribution was the seventh to women’s and entrepreneur associations. More groups are expected to avail of the loan program in February next year.
“Ang programang ito ay tuloy-tuloy at naglalayon na makatulong at madagdagan ang kita ng ating mga kababayan,” Muego said, stressing that the program is intended to develop additional livelihood projects and not as the main source of income for beneficiaries.
The provincial government has so far released P7.7 million since July 2007.
Muego said the recipient associations were thoroughly evaluated and trained.
Among the loan beneficiaries are: San Juan Women’s Club, Laois Women’s Association, Franciscan Women’s Association, Inmalog Norte Amazing Women’s Association, Capas Women’s Association, Kapuso Multi- Purpose Cooperative, Saint Paschal Baylon Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Rangtay ti Rang-ay Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Organic Pares Multi-Purpose Cooperative, PCB Boneless Bagoong Retailer and Five Kids Food Products.–PIO
