CSI sponsors events for Dagupan fiesta
THE Belen-Making Contest, a Disney Costume Ball, a Christmas Carol Contest and mass baptism will add more color to the 2009 Dagupan fiesta, celebrated every December in honor of the city’s patron saint, John the Evangelist.
These four events will be sponsored by the CSI Group of companies headed by Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez.
The Belen-Making Contest, “Binyagang Bayan”, and the Christmas Carol Contest are already on their third year, while the Disney Costume Ball, to be participated in by children, is a new activity.
The winner in the Belen-making, a contest for the best nativity scene using indigenous materials among the city’s 31 barangays, will be awarded on December 27, coinciding with the Barangay Night of the city fiesta.
The “Binyagang Bayan” or Mass Baptism, to be officiated for the first time by Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas, will be held at the CSI Stadia for some 300 kids from all barangays.
The Disney Costume Ball on December 14 at CSI Stadia will be stage-managed by children from different private schools in the city, who will themselves prepare the program for indigents, day care students and street children.
The Christmas Caroling Contest will be held at the Big Atrium of CSI the City Mall.—LM
