Bongbong Marcos calls for GMA’s resignation
LINGAYEN–Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., speaking to newsmen here last week, called on President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to resign in view of her candidacy for a congressional seat in her home province Pampanga in the 2010 elections.
Marcos, who is running for a senate seat, said while the President can run for another position, “she should resign as president” to set a good example by leveling the playing field among candidates.
“You imagine the logistics of a President being poured in one district, how can she be defeated? That is not right,” said Marcos.
“It is her right to run for any positions she wants but she should not use her position to advance her political interest,” he said.#
