STO. TOMAS–It’s official.

Mayor Vivien Ocampo-Villar , earlier reported to be considering the vice governor post, wants to be re-elected for a final term in office.

Villar filed her certificate of candidacy on November 21 together with her complete slate of re-electionists for local positions under the Biskeg na Pangasinan, the only provincial political party in Pangasinan accredited by the Commission on Election.

Seeking her last term in the 2010 elections, Villar won unopposed for three terms from 1992 to 2001, then from 2004 to present.

In the 2004 and 2007 elections, the Villar’s entire slate also ran unopposed.

Villar’s nephew, re-electionist Vice Mayor Timoteo Villar III, will again be her running mate.

Her complete slate include re-electionist councilors Wilfredo Pescador, June DC Noces and Miguel Quitan Jr.; neophyte candidates Jean Marquez, Estefania Vengco, Tomas Castañaga Jr, Alfredo Eleccion and Dominador Lardizabal.

Villar is the wife of Undersecretary Antonio Villar Jr., head of the Presidential Anti-Smuggling Group who was himself mayor here for 20 years from 1972 to 1992, running unopposed except in one election.

Meanwhile, an independent candidate for councilor, Benjamin Oculto Jr. of Barangay La Luna filed his COC on Nov. 20.#
