POZORRUBIO is chosen the Best Performing LGU in 2009 in Pangasinan for the second consecutive year.

The award, given out by the Provincial Development Council chaired by Governor Amado Espino Jr., is based on the Local Governance Performance Management System (LGPMS) that rates development initiatives in terms of economy, social environment and governance.

Pozorrubio, an agricultural town with a 73,000 population, is now a first class municipality.

Last year, when it was still a 2nd class municipality, Pozorrubio won the same award under the Municipal A category which groups towns at per class level.

CHAN

Under the stewardship of Mayor Emma Chan, Pozorrubio will again represent Pangasinan in the RDC-DILG (Regional Development Council-Department of Internal and Local Government) Search for Region 1 Best LGU-LGPMS 2009. Last year, the towm ranked 2nd runner-up in Region 1.

Pozorrubio will face 3 other qualifiers from the 3 other provinces of Region 1: Naguilian of La Union, Tagudin of Ilocos Sur and San Nicolas of Ilocos Norte.

The Regional Search Committee (RSC) will conduct validation visits November 23 – December 14.—Jing Villamil
