NEW ALTERNATIVE TO SOIL CONDITIONING—Jardine Distribution Inc. (JDI), a leading marketing company distributing agricultural chemicals, formally introduces to a group of farmers in Pangasinan a more convenient alternative to the tedious task of soil conditioning as proof of its partnership with Filipino farmers. Its ‘Limelite’ is an organic water soluble calcium powder that gives the same benefit of conventional liming but with relatively a lot less needed, taking effect immediately and easier to apply. The traditional practice that burdened farmers is to apply truckloads of agricultural lime, but Jardine points out only 2.4 kilograms per hectare of Limelite is needed to provide the same soil conditioning effect.
