CdD students shine in provincial quiz show

THREE Colegio de Dagupan (CdD) students topped the recently concluded 20th National Statistics Office Provincial Statistics Quiz Show.

It was a comeback performance for the school having been a champion for five consecutive years before it lost to the Pangasinan State University (PSU) last year.

Jeffer Maduro, BSEd 4th year, Perry Lamsen, BSECE 4th year and Mark Benavente, BSECE 5th year grabbed the gold medal during the event held Oct. 8 at the Provincial Capitol.

Engr. Eumelia H. Mendoza, Mathematics department head, and Sharon Oviedo coached the winners.

Seven schools competed, including PASS College of Alaminos, Great Plebeian College, PSU Lingayen, PSU San Carlos, PSU Binmaley, and Panpacific University of Northern Pangasinan.

EXAMS

Meanwhile, the CdD achieved a 100% passing rate in this year’s Electrical Engineering Board Exam as well as the highest Certified Public Accountant Board Exam passing average in Pangasinan

The new electrical engineers are Kherwin Aquino, Michael Aquino, Christopher Bautista, Jenmark Noe and Jingle Diaz. The overall passing average of CdD was 63% in contrast with the national passing percentage of only 42%.

The successful CPA passers are Samuel Manuel, Ivor Joshua Millora, Kenneth Javier, Leo Garcia, Grace Sera, Ambrosio Estradan and Vanessa Vallo.

CdD’s first time CPA passers registered a 56% average percentage and an overall passing percentage of 50%, higher than the national passing percentage of 41.67.
