Two legal luminaries to join DWAD homecoming

TWO more legal eagles who graduated from the Divine Word Academy of Dagupan (DWAD) have confirmed their attendance to school’s grand alumni homecoming on November 21 this year.

Judge Marlon Meneses (Batch 78) and Atty. Manuel Aoanan (Batch 71) will be among the expected alumni who have distinguished themselves in their field.

MENESES

Meneses, a recipient of the school’s loyalty award, obtained his BS Commerce degree at the University of Pangasinan, and eventually his Bachelor of Laws also in the same university in 1987. Meneses was a practicing lawyer in Dagupan City.

He served a Public Attorney in Region 1 and became a presiding judge of the Malasiqui Municipal Trial Court.

Judge Marlon is also a professor in the University of Pangasinan College of Law, Accountancy and Commerce, aside from being a Professor and Reviewer in the University of Luzon College of Criminology.

AOANAN

AOANAN

Aoanan earned his degree in Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences at the University of Hawaii with the and Juris Doctor, the equivalent of a Bachelor of Laws degree in the Philippines, Martin Luther King Hall School of Law of the University of California.

Upon his return to Dagupan City, Aoanan served as a visiting professor in the College of Criminology at Lyceum Northwestern University and eventually as Chief of Staff of District Operations at the Office of Speaker Jose De Venecia Jr. until 2008.

At present, he is the Policy and Legislation Specialist of the League of Cities of the Philippines, and Executive Assistant to Mayor Alipio F. Fernandez Jr. of Dagupan City. —LM
