Manay Gina gets Erap’s support

FORMER President Joseph Estrada, who was in Pangasinan on Friday for his Alay sa Pasasalamat ni Erap tours, said he fully supports Gina ‘Manay’ de Venecia who is eyeing to replace her husband as congressman in the 4th district of Pangasinan.

Estrada, accompanied by Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, former Ambassador Ernesto Maceda, ZTE-NBN Deal whistle-blower Joey de Venecia III, came to Dagupan before going around the province with a stop-over in Binmaley and Lingayen to meet old political allies.

De Venecia, who is in Khzakstan with her husband, Rep. Jose de Venecia Jr., for the International Conference of Asian Political Parties of which he is the founder, said in a text message that she is happy and thankful to Estrada for the endorsement.

Among the local officials who met Estrada in Pangasinan were Board Member Alicia Pulido, whose daughter, Maki Pulido, is being groomed to run for congress in the 1st District, and Dagupan City Councilor Alfredo Quinto Jr., an old friend of the former President.

MEDICAL MISSION

Meanwhile, the Office of Rep. De Venecia in Dagupan said there are now more than 5,600 people in 10 barangays of Mangaldan who have been served by the daily medical mission he initiated.

The activity is being conducted by mobile medical clinics manned by staff of Rural Health Units.

The mobile clinics will be stationed in Dagupan starting September 29 to cover Bonuan Gueset, Pantal, Bonuan Boquig, Malued, Caranglaan, Lucao, Mayombo, Bonuan Binloc, Poblacion Oeste and Pogo Chico.

Operation “Iwas Dengue” was also started last week in Pantal, Mayombo, Caranglaan, Lucao and Perez-Herrero,  Bacayao Sur, Bacayao Norte,  Salisay, Bolosan, Tambac and  Mamalingling.—LM
