Michael Sim, owner of Manokan Bacolod Style on Gomez Street in Dagupan, scored 12 consecutive strikes in the Pin Topplers’ Tournament, participated in by 19 rated bowlers from the city and other parts of Pangasinan.

Sim accomplished the same feat in 2003 and 2005.

The tournament was won, however, by Marwin Santiago who prevailed over Sim in the step-the-ladder duel between them.

Minalas ako sa last frame where I split my pins,” said Sim, who like Santiago, underwent coaching training on bowling under the Philippine Sports Commission.

The two finished level 3 of their training but did not complete owing to their business activities.

Sim said the youth in the province should be encouraged to play bowling, and those interested should take advantage of the CSI Family Fun World, a 20-lane bowling alley that can be considered one of the best in Asia. –LM
