P17-B TPLex will reduce travel time to 2 hours
ROSALES–What is there to look forward to once the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway project is completed?
From today’s five to six hour travel time from Balintawak, Caloocan to Rosario, La Union, the new project will enable motorists to cut travel time to two hours and 15 minutes.
For this venture, 10 companies are investing an estimated P17 billion for the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway project, with the government putting in a P2.9 billion subsidy.
Presidential Management Staff Secretary Hermogenes Esperon Jr., whose office is in charge of overseeing the project, said construction is expected to start within the month with 95% of right-of-way cases already resolved.
“Right now, right of way settlement stands at about 95 percent but they have to formalize everything and hopefully construction starts this August,” Esperon said last week as he met here with representatives from agencies involved in the road project.
By December 2010, construction is planned to have already reached the Carmen, Rosales area and full completion is expected by 2014. #
