Two Pangasinan cops in top 10 list

Two policemen from Pangasinan were selected as among the nation’s 10 best cops to receive the prestigious MetroBank Foundation Award on Monday, July 5, from President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo in Malacañang.

P P/Supt. Eric Noble, police chief  of  Sta. Barbara and Police Officer 3 Arturo Melchor, assigned with the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office in Lingayen, were adjudged two of the ten Country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service (COPS) this year sponsored by the Metrobank Foundation  and its partners PSBank and the Rotary Club of New Manila East.

Both were cited for their excellent police service and outstanding community involvement.

Noble won in the Police Commissioned Officers (PCO) category while Melchor, a pre-charge investigator, won in the Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCO) category.

Noble has made a difference for the community in Sta. Barbara with his novel “Feed and Read to Lead Program” for children, a project aimed at instilling in them the value of reading and stimulate in their young mind, the values of industry and love of country.

Police Chief Superintendent Ramon V. Gatan, Police Regional Office 1 Regional Director, congratulated the two awardees for the national recognition.

“I am proud that out of 109 aspirants from various police offices and units all over the country, two of our contenders made it to the list of four PCOs and six PNCOs comprising this year’s awardees,” Gatan said.

Gatan added that PRO1 will present plaques of appreciation to Noble and Melchor for giving honor to the regional office.

Each awardee will receive trophy and P250,000 cash price.–LM
