PDCC events for disaster consciousness month slated
LINGAYEN—Various activities intended to prepare Pangasinenses for calamities and mitigate the effects of disasters such as earthquake, fire and flashfloods have been lined up by the Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council (PDCC) to observe National Disaster Consciousness Month this July.
The program will kick-off on July 20 during the regular flag-raising ceremony of the province at the Capitol Plaza.
A simulated search and rescue and health emergency operation will be held along the San Vicente River, Poblacion, Lingayen and at the Lingayen District Hospital.
PDCC Executive Officer Paterno Orduña said the event will feature real-life, worst-case rescue operations that will include rooftop rescue, drifting and capsized boat victims rescue, evacuation, first aid, transfer to hospital, emergency response, relief operation and distribution and stress management.
A free concert-for-a-cause dubbed “Konsyerto Kontra Peligro” will be held Monday night at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center featuring the “Banda ni ATE” and the finalists of the battle of the bands held last Pista’y Dayat. —PIO
