More want to work in hotels and restaurants
Finding work in hotels and restaurants appear to be the aspiration of more college students in the region.
This was gleaned from the increasing number of students enrolled in B.S. Hotel and Restaurant Management in colleges this school year across the region.
Other courses topping the list preferred by students are Information Technology and Nursing.
The observation was noted in the data culled there are more enrollees in public and private higher educational institutions (HEIs) in the Ilocos Region since classes started last June 15.
Dr. Caridad Abuan, officer-in-charge at the Commission on Higher Education in Region 1, said that as of end of June, their enrollment quick count showed there are now 128,274 students enrolled in HEIs in the region, or 1,000 more than last year.#
