3 test positive of A(H1N1) influenza
LINGAYEN–The Department of Health (DOH) Region 1 office announced that only three persons out of 44 tested were confirmed positive for A (H1N1) influenza as of Wednesday, of which two are in Pangasinan.
DOH Regional Director Eduardo Janairo said of the 44 suspected cases, 86%, including the three who tested positive, have already recovered.
Janairo said of the three positive cases, a six-year old from Manaoag who arrived from Hawaii, a 16-year old from Asingan, and the other a nine-year old from La Union.
Janairo said since there are still a few cases recorded, the region remains under a period of containment and the DOH is still doing some contact-tracing.
Schools in the region have been advised not to suspend classes but Janairo asked communities to remain vigilant by closely monitoring those who show any symptoms of the A(H1N1) virus.—LM
