The new Dagupan City “mayor” here exhorted new voters for the 2010 elections to make a big difference by electing a president who can unite the country.

Fifteen-year old Kim Alexis Vidal, a third-year high school student at the University of Pangasinan, told local newsmen after he and the other newly designated young officials were sworn in by Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. to serve for the duration of the Boys and Girls Week (June 22 to 26) in the city.

Vidal appealed to young voters to make their voices count by registering for the 2010 polls.

Their oath-taking which was among the highlights of the 62nd Agew na Dagupan (Dagupan Day) celebration that marked the charter day of the city held at the Don Alipio Fernandez Sr. People’s Astrodome here, was witnessed by thousands of DagupeƱos mostly from the academe and barangay sectors.
