Manay Gina hails e-commerce
MRS. Gina de Venecia, president of the INA Foundation (short for Ina na Nangungulila sa Anak) hailed e-Commerce as “new business of the world” when she spoke during the graduation exercises of the Asian Institute of E-Commerce on June 22 at CSI Stadia in Dagupan.
Addressing graduates from various AIE campuses in Pangasinan, the wife of Rep. Jose de Venecia Jr., cited India’s success in attaining zero inflation rates this year which was attributed to the country’s burgeoning e-commerce.
De Venecia said that not long ago, India was tagged by the World Health Organization as a nation where 46 percent of the world’s wasted children lived and where begging, she added, was regarded as a profession.
But the children of that country, she said, are destined to have a better life now when it was announced last June 19 that India had registered zero inflation rate for the first time after 30 long years.
She said that India achieved this incredible feat due to E-commerce or the act of doing business through the computer networks and Internet.
She lauded graduates of AIE with branches in Alaminos City, Dagupan, Calasiao and Urdaneta, Pangasinan for zeroing in on the most important factor for the country’s economic recovery by creating new job opportunities for the Filipino people. (PNA)
