The first government-owned dialysis center in Pangasinan will open soon to serve patients, especially the indigent ones.

“We will inaugurate our very own dialysis center this month,” Gov. Amado Espino, Jr. said during his site visit to the Mayor Julian Resuello Dialysis Center of the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos Citylast June 20.

According to Espino, the hospital will only charge an indigent patient P3,000 per session. Private hospitals charge a minimum of P7,000 per session.

“Sigurado akong ‘di tataas ng P3,000 ang bayad sa dialysis,” Espino said.

He also announced that the 15 dialysis machines donated by the US-based DaVita Corporation through its Bridge of Life Foundation had already arrived last June 19.

He said two more machines to be donated by a civic group from Bayambang are expected to arrive soon.

Each machine costs more than P1-million and can accommodate three to four patients a day. -PIO
