Feeding program launched anew in city
THE Schools Feeding Program in Dagupan this school year was launched with feeding for Grades I to III pupils in Barangays Carael, Pugaro and Lucao.
The feeding program, sponsored by CSI Group of Companies and the Jimmy Fernandez Foundation led by Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, helped decrease the malnutrition rate among the school population in Dagupan City last year.
“From Lucao, we will proceed to other barangays, till the whole of Dagupan City is fully covered,” said Fernandez, who was joined by officers of the “Manlingkor Ya Kalangweran” youth Vice Mayor Eleazar Estrada and youth Nutrition Officer Christina Caoile in launching the feeding program.
The program, in collaboration with the City Government through the City Nutrition Office headed by Leah Aquino, serves oatmeal to the kids.
The Jimmy Fernandez Foundation is now also helping in the elevation of classrooms at the East Central Elementary School.
