SAN CARLOS CITY–Heads will roll once city hall employees responsible for the missing P9 million have been identified.

This, Mayor Julier Resuello vowed, will happen as he reiterated that there will be no sacred cows in the ongoing probe for the reported missing fund from the city coffers.

Both the fact-finding committee and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) that are conducting separate investigations are expected to render their reports very soon.

The missing P9-milllion fund was detected by City Treasurer Arturo Mandapat after noting discrepancies in the reports of city cashiers that included Lenny Fermin.

Resuello said both NBI and the team will exchange findings to validate the results of their separate investigations and the outcome will serve as the basis for the filing of appropriate charges against the still unnamed suspects.

The investigators are also looking into reported cases of depositing of government checks in personal accounts.

“No sacred cows Kakasuhan po natin sinoman sila at unang- una gusto kong linisin natin ang pangalan ng siyudad ng San Carlos,” Resuello said.

The mayor said the suspects could be charged for malversation of public funds and even possible for money laundering.

Earlier, Fermin, in her sworn affidavit, said she was held up sometime on March 31 after she withdrew said amount at the Land Bank of the Philippines branch here.

However, she only made such claim on May 16, a month after the incident.

Fermin later said she didn’t report the incident after receiving death threats from still unidentified persons.#
