STA. BARBARA— To further support the PNP Integrated Transformation Program, the local police chief here published his own version of the United Nations (UN) Police book entitled “Gearing up to be a Global Cop”.

The author, Superintendent Eric Noble, is a veteran UN police officer who took part in UN peace missions in Kosovo in 2000 and in the troubled Caribbean island of Haiti in 2006.

He regularly lectures on UN peacekeeping subjects to various police training institutions in addition to his work as Sta. Barbara chief of police.

“It (the book) is a practical reviewer on how to pass the rigid test for aspiring UN Policemen. When I was in Kosovo and Haiti, Filipino peacekeepers were looked up to due to their competence,” Noble said, adding that the demand for PNP officers is very high.

“My passion is to make UN peacekeeping an achievable dream to each and every member of the PNP. It is an excellent means for building the capacity of the PNP and raise performance standards and the global image of the Filipino police officers at no extra cost to taxpayers,” he said.

The chief of staff of the PNP’s Project Management Office, Sr. Supt. Cesar Hawthorne Binag, also a UN peacekeeping veteran, lauded the book as it shares the vision of preparing PNP personnel to become global cops primed for international police work.
