SAN CARLOS CITY–For the second consecutive year, this city was again overall champion in the recently concluded Private Schools Athletics Association (PRISAA) meet Region 1.

San Carlos City harvested 82 gold, 45 silver and 17 bronze medals in the regional meet held in San Fernando City, La Union.

Mayor Julier Resuello, upon his assumption to office in 2007, assiduously supported sports development in the city by providing cash incentives to the city’s athletes, and rewards to the winners.

The delegation officials who accompanied the Carlenan athletes to the 2008 regional PRISAA included City Sports Coordinator and San Carlos College Sports Director Federico Lopez Jr., San Carlos College president Atty. Arturo de Veyra head of the PRISAA Metro SanCarlos Chapter; and Vice President of Region I PRISAA Dra. Ma. Lilia Posadas Juan, president of the Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation; and VMUF Sports Director Dr. Marcelino Dona.

San Carlenan female athletes garnered most of the gold medals.#
