FRESH from a third place victory in the 2008 Tour de Indonesia held a week ago, the “Pitaki Boyz” enplaned to Hong Kong on December 11 to participate in the 2008 Tour of South China Sea slated for December 14-21.

Sponsored by Jazy Sports/Beacon Philippines, the formidable team is composed of pedal-pushers from Pangasinan, namely, Sherwin Carrera of San Fabian, Ericson Obosa of Manaoag, Emilito Atilano of Basista, Renato Sembrano and team owner Jazy Garcia both fromMangaldan.

The quintet, which will be skippered by Garcia, will be up against some of the best cyclists from Asia, Europe and Australia but they are optimistic about earning some laurels for the province and the country.

“We will try our best to win some awards like what the boys did in Indonesia this year,” Garcia said.

“Our local squad is now gradually making a name in the cycling world and I hope our experience abroad will help us a lot to win in China. Each victory we earn is not for ourselves alone but for our province and our country,” Garcia said. —JAG, Jr.
