AFTER the successful staging of the inter-barangay basketball tournament last summer, Mangaldan town geared up for another basketball tourney starting today, December 21.

The “Mayor’s Cup 2008 Inter-Commercial Basketball Tournament”, organized by Mayor Herminio A. Romero exclusively for Mangaldan residents will have seven teams competing through a double-round-robin system for cash prizes, trophies and medals.

The three- month hostilities will be held at the Macario Ydia Development Center.

League commissioner Danny Villanueva said the teams are named after prominent business establishments in the town including Jazy Sports/Beacon Philippines, MACS, GAP, MSC, SLAM, Juster Taekwondo and Guiguilonen.—JAGJr.
