LINGAYEN–Ignoring warnings from the weather authorities, three eight year-olds drowned in the afternoon of Christmas Day at the Lingayen coast.

The fatalities, all related to each other and residing in this town, were Raymar Eria, Carl Joshua Eria, and Christine Ivy Victorio.

They were brought to the Sto. Nino Hospital where the attending doctor declared them dead on arrival.

The police said the three victims went swimming unattended although they were with adult relatives.

The provincial office of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) earlier warned the public about swimming at this time of the year due to the dangers posed by a surge of big waves resulting from amihan winds.#
