ROSALES–The ordinance, “Kill The Rabid Dog”, has been approved by the municipal council here following several deaths recorded in the past months due to attacks from dogs with rabies.

“The killing of identified rabid dogs in the municipality would make Rosales free from the deadly rabies and keep the people safe from the danger of rabid dogs,” states the ordinance which is now under review by the provincial board.

Sponsored by Councilor Armand Meimban II, the ordinance is intended to supplement the existing Rabies Control Ordinance, which simply prohibits stray dogs from roaming the town.

The ordinance cited the threat to the lives of the residents that rabid dogs pose and justified their elimination.
