BAYAMBANG–“This is where your taxes are spent” was the message happily conveyed by the municipal government to its biggest taxpayer.

The municipal government purchased several heavy equipment and apparatuses to boost its infrastructure projects and attributed its capability to own these to businessman Cezar Quiambao, the town’s biggest taxpayer who this year remitted more than P20 million in taxes.

During the blessing ceremony, Mayor Ricardo Camacho cited Quiambao’s contribution that enabled the local government to empower itself and not be dependent on provincial and national agencies.

Out of the tax paid by Quiambao, P7 million was used to purchase the heavy equipment, and the remaining P13-M will also be allocated for infrastructure projects.

Quiambao was presented with a plaque of recognition for being the town’s number one taxpayer.

Quiambao said he is elated by the honor given him and promised to do his best to further help his native town.

The town now boasts ownership of one 2-tonner mini-dump truck, two 10-tonner dump trucks, one steel roller, one wheel excavator, one two-tonner boom truck, one mini wheel loader, one motor grader, one agricultural tractor, one cement compactor, generator sets, welding machines, generators pumps, and work lights.—CSR
