JCI Dagupan Inc. copped major awards during the recent 60th National Convention of the Junior Chamber International Philippines in Dipolog City.

The local organization romped off with the Best United Nations Millennium Development Goals (UN-MDG) Project award, Most Outstanding Local Organization President (Category III) Merit Award for JCI Mem. Ryan Ravanzo, 100% JCI Performance Efficiency Award and citation for Best of the Best Projects for its “Kalinga para sa Calima” project during the 3rd Temyong Awards last October 10.

The JCI Dagupan won the nod of national judges when it stated it had abandoned pageantry, pomp and protocol of a formal dinner reception and investiture ceremonies and opted to roll up their sleeves to implement its major city program dubbed as Kalinga para sa Calima which included a 120-day nonstop feeding program, mangrove reforestation and fruit tree planting activities, and medical and dental mercy missions in Sitio Calima in Pantal, one of the city’s poverty-stricken communities.

Ravanzo was also sworn into office during the Grand Ball last October 11 as 2009 national executive vice president for Area I by JCI Senator Dennis Cunanan, JCI Vice President for Area B (Asia), to lead JCI chapters in Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, Ilocandia, Greater Zambales and the Cagayan Valley regions.#
