Cop efficiency highest in province’s 4th district

LINGAYEN–While the most number of crimes committed this year was registered in the 4th District, the solution of crimes in the district is also rated the highest in the province.

Based on police statistics, 350 index and non-index crimes were recorded from January 1 to Sept. 15 in the district that includes Dagupan City, Manaoag, Mangaldan, San Fabian and San Jacinto.

At the same time, the district, under Rep. Jose de Venecia Jr., also recorded the highest percentage of crimes solution efficiency at 97 percent, or 339 of the 350 cases were solved.

The report gathered by The PUNCH from Superintendent David Rapisora Jr, deputy provincial director for operations, show that for index crimes like murder, homicide, physical injuries, rape, robbery and theft, 139 incidents were reported in the said area with 92 percent crime solution efficiency.

For non-index crimes, which include violation of special laws, there were 211 recorded with 100 percent crime solution efficiency.

Next in the crime volume list is the 3rd District, under Rep. Ma. Rachel Arenas, with 240 crime volume of which 212 were solved representing 88 percent crime solution efficiency.

The 5th District under Rep. Mark Cojuangco registered 219 crime volume, with 189 solved representing 86 percent crime solution efficiency.

The town in the district that practically registered zero crime incidents is Sto. Tomas, under Mayor Vivien Villar.

Sto. Tomas, considered as the most peaceful town in Pangasinan, has no case of murder, homicide, rape, and robbery case, registered only one case each for physical injuries and theft, both of which were solved.

Sixth congressional district, under Rep. Conrado Estrella III, registered 215 crime volume with 192 cases solved or 89 percent crime solution efficiency.

The 1st District, under Rep. Arthur Celeste, has a 213 crime volume with 194 solved or 91 efficiency.

The 2nd District, under Rep. Victor Agbayani had 140 crime volume with 128 solved or 91 percent efficiency.

Physical injuries has the highest recorded incidents with 203 cases in the entire province followed by theft at 113; murder, 9; rape, 79; robbery, 58; and homicide, 55.#
