Two drug-dealing suspects killed in East Pangasinan
TAYUG–Either a drug war may have broken out or a vigilante group is on the loose in Eastern Pangasinan after two suspected drug personalities were shot dead one after the other in separate places this week.
The latest victim, Charlie Carillo of Poblacion, Tayug was shot and killed at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday in his home in Poblacion, Tayug by two men riding tandem on a Honda Wave motorcycle.
The other victim, Teresita Padernal, 46, was shot and killed by two suspects, also on board a motorcycle, last Monday at 7:00 p.m. in barangay Alac, San Quintin. Padernal’s husband was wounded in his hand.
Investigators theorized that the same persons who shot Carillo six times but narrowly missed him last July 2 were the same persons who shot and killed him on Wednesday while the victim was washing dishes in front of his house.
He sustained three gunshot wounds in different parts of his body and died on the spot. The gunmen used Cal. 45 pistol as evidenced by empty shells found at the crime scene.
Supt. Roberto Vocal, chief of police of Tayug, confirmed that Carillo had three cases for violation of illegal drugs law filed at the sala of Regional Trial Court Judge Ulysses Raciles Butuyan but all these were already dismissed.
On the other hand, Chief Inspector Abubakar Mangilen, chief of police of San Quintin, confirmed that Padernal was arrested by the police in 2006 for drug pushing.–LM
