TEAM Yellow amassed a three-game series of 3448 pins to lead the ‘First Mangaldan Liga Ng Mga Barangay Inter-Color Bowling Tournament’ being held at RG Bowling and Billiards Lane in Dagupan City.

Team Yellow, composed of barangays Banaoang, Anolid, Bari, Nibaliw and Navaluan, led its closest pursuer Team Blue, made up of barangays Palua, Salaan, Malabago, Guilig and Gueguesangen, by 250 pins.

Team Green, consisting of barangays Salay, Poblacion, Lanas and Guesang, is 254 pins adrift of the leader while Team White of barangays Maasin, Amansabina, Embarcadero, Talogtogand Alitaya, is behind by 333 pins.

Team Red and Orange are far behind and out of contention for the title.

“The bowlfest is a resounding success because all the barangay chairmen are very cooperative,” said Councilor Melchor de Guzman, the president of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) of Mangaldan.

“We will do it again next year as our aim is to foster camaraderie and oneness through sports,” De Guzman added.

The tourney, pitting six color teams led by barangay captains and their respective kagawads, ends on August 29.

Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded after the final game by Mangaldan hizzoner Herminio Romero, Vice Mayor Pedro Surdilla and Fourth District Board Member Jeremy Agerico Rosario. —JAG, Jr.
