Agriculturists form group

LINGAYEN-Mayor Ernesto Castañeda will induct the newly elected officers and members of the Municipal Agricultural and Fishery Council (MAFC) of Lingayen headed by Arturo Escano on July 8 at the town’s Municipal Social Hall.

Organized June 17 this year, MAFC will promote Blue Revolution through the raising of tilapia and hito as well as the planting of vegetables and fruit-bearing trees in all available backyards and vacant lots, said Juanito Coquia, press relations officer.

The other officers of Lingayen MAFC are Municipal Agriculturist Panilita Castro, vice chairman for the government sector; Dr. Blas Cruz, vice chairman for the private sector; Dr. Rodolfo de la Cruz, secretariat-coordinator; Perfecto Torio, treasurer; Paterno Jimenez and Rafe Cruz, auditors; and Coquia, PRO.

The sectoral representatives are Rodrigo Fernandez, for crops; Marlon Manuel, for livestock; Jesus Angeles, for farm mechanization; Cornelio Salacsacan, for commercial crops; Alejandro Soriano, for cooperatives; Sonia Cruz, for women; John-John Paragas, for youth; Leo Lopez, for agri-tourism; and Mario Casaclang, for fishery.—LM
