Watch out for Pangasinan vs. the world on the pool table!

The world’s cue masters will test the mettle of the best of local talents during the Dagupan Bangusfest Billiards Challenge slated April 28 to 29 at the Atrium of the CSI the City Mall in Dagupan City.

Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, chair person of the 2008 Dagupan Bangus Festival, said great names in world of billiards like Ronato ‘the Volcano’ Alcano, Dennis Orcullo, Robert Gomez and Joven Bustamante have been invited.

The four greats will square off with the four top semi-finalists emerging from the 9-Ball open competition, giving local talents an opportunity to play with the world’s best.

Councilor Carlo Fernandez, chairperson of the billiards event, is optimistic that local cue artists will also get a chance to play beyond Philippine borders after the experience of playing with world-class players.

Fernandez expressed confidence that the arrival of the world’s best in billiards will inspire Pangasinenses to improve their skills.

“This is actually the thrust and vision of this festival — to motivate and inspire people to think and dream big,” Fernandez added. #
