Report ranks UPang as best in Region I
THE University of Pangasinan (UPang) has earned another distinction as one of the ‘most trusted educational institutions in Region l’.
A recent survey conducted among groups of parents, professionals, students, businessmen and the general public in the region showed that the university was considered as the “most reliable and trusted” producer of college graduates and professionals.
UPang chairman Cesar T. Duque said the recognition is a testament to the university’s well-known performance as producer of brilliant minds and well-known professionals including national leaders in their various professions.
Dr. Catalino Rivera Jr., UPang president, recalled that in all his years as president, never has the university chalked up an enrollment record as it did today, a sign of the growing trust and confidence in the university.
“Our enrolment record has always been on the increase,” he said, adding that the university is on the forefront of programs that ensure excellence and employability of the graduates.
He added that even before the word “competitiveness” in the job market acquired currency, UPang has already adopted it and made sure that it has sustained its record.
Senior Vice President Marietta Sorio cited the university’s record since the days of Dr. Blas F. Rayos, UPang founder and first president, followed by his son George Rayos as second president, and finally, Duque and later, Rivera as a producer of board topnotchers.
“Let me say that ‘UPang’ readily comes to mind when one asks any high school graduate what college in Pangasinan would he prefer to pursue his education,” Dean Ofelia Rayos said, pointing to the numerous UPang students who displayed brilliance in their chosen professions, matching those enrolled in the best schools in Manila.
