Upgrade city’s Tapuac Road upgrade is 60% complete
THE upgrading of a portion of the Dagupan-Lingayen road in barangay Tapuac, Dagupan City is now 60% complete and ahead of schedule, according to Second Highway District Engineer Rodolfo Dion.
Funded by the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of former Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr., the P20 million project is being worked on by the contractor round the clock.
Dion said the road was elevated by 70 centimeters setting it higher than the flood level in the area.
“We hope to end the flooding in that stretch once the upgrading is completed,” he said.
“Every time there is flood, water lags in that area from three to four days to the inconvenience of passing motorists. Nakakahiya sa mga motorists at commuters,” he added.
Flooding the area hinders the flow of light vehicles passing through.
Dion said while they are still concreting the right lane, they already opened the left lane for one-way traffic but only for light vehicles.
This relieved pressure on Malued road where public utility vehicles and trucks have been temporarily diverted.—LM
