MAPANDAN— Information and computer technology has won another advocate in Mapandan town.

To boost the town’s development, Mayor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim announced that the municipal government system will be completely computerized to perk up services to the people.

He said the use of the technology will hasten the planning of various projects with specific targets based on database that the system will gather.

Among the other projects being worked include the renovation of the municipal hall, upgrading of the farm-to-market roads with help from the Department of Agriculture, Department of Agrarian Reform DAR, the provincial government, and 3rd District Rep. Rachel Arenas.

Calimlim said his administration is also currently holding talks with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) for the rehabilitation of the existing irrigation facilities, which cover only 30% of the total agricultural lands in the town.

The mayor pointed out that the town is currently the largest producer of table eggs in Northern Luzon with output of more than 100,000 eggs a day, and the only town in the area producing table-ready moscuvado.

He also announced that they are set to fully operate the town’s water district by next month.–CSR
