Versoza children shine in IRAA swimming meet
LINGAYEN-Two siblings shone at the recently concluded Ilocos Region Athletic Association (IRAA) meet clinching gold medals in the swimming events held at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) here.
Luis Mariano Verzosa, 16, and his younger sister, Ma.Cresencia, 12, took home four and five gold medals, respectively.
The elder Verzosa, a fourth year high school student who represented the Dagupan City schools division, won in the 100 meter freestyle, 200 freestyle, 400 free style, and 100 meter backstroke events.
He also bagged a silver medal for the 200 meter individual medley in the high school boys category.
Meanwhile, the younger Verzosa, a first-year high school student who represented Pangasinan I schools division, finished first in the 100 meter freestyle, 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 100 meter butterfly, and 200 meter butterfly.
The Verzosa swimmers, children of Police Supt. Mariano Luis Verzosa and wife Sandra, are members of the Pangasinan Swimming Club under coach Jules Morsib.—CSR
