PANGASINAN CONCERT SERIES

The Pandaragupan Youth Orchestra’s (PYO) “Pangasinan Concert Series” staged its third successful concert on March 10 at the Pilgrims Center in Manaoag.

The audience was treated to one hour and a half hour of musical performance that included a dozen classical pieces courtesy of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) Brass Ensemble.

The concert series is organized by PYO founders Jeslito Seen and Adolfo Mendoza in collaboration with the Family Child Development School in Manaoag and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).

Earlier concerts were held at Cherished Moments School in Mangaldan and at Ednas School in Alaminos.

The performances are part of PYO’s goal of increasing public awareness and fondness for classical music, and ultimately creating a youth orchestra consisting of underprivileged yet musically-inclined children coming from different parts of Pangasinan.

Seen and Mendoza, who expressed gratitude to the audience and other supporters of the event, said the concert series will end in May.
