MALASIQUI–A P50-million public amphitheater will be built here through the initiative of 3rd District Rep. Rachel Arenas.

Groundbreaking ceremonies for the project were held Wednesday led by Arenas, assisted by her mom, philanthropist Rosemarie “Baby” Arenas, with local officials and Public Works representatives.

Arenas pledged P20 million initially to start the construction of the amphitheater which will also house local government offices.

Arenas said construction is targeted for completion by next year.

She said that the amphitheater is a fulfillment of another election promise made to her constituents, adding that more multi-million pesos worth projects are underway here like the construction of the million Ican Bridge.

The congresswoman credited President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for promising to “grant all her requests for the people of the 3rd District”.

The amphitheater is being financed through Arenas’ Public Development Assistance Fund.#
