Gordon, Duque to address holistic healing festival

LABRADOR—Leaders of health, wellness, healing and medical tourism from different countries will hold a week-long holistic healing festival here beginning March l7.

Senator Richard Gordon and Health Secretary Francisco Duque III are among the invited guests of honor and speakers for the opening day of the event, to be held at the Villa Jireh healing center in Barangay Uyong.

“World leaders of medical tourism, wellness and healing will cite the two national leaders for their contributions to tourism and public health respectively,” said Helyn Escano, Villa Jireh co-owner and festival overall director.

 More than 20,000 participants, health aficionados, tourists are expected to attend the weeklong festival atop a hill overlooking the China Sea.

Now a healing landmark in Pangasinan, the Villa Jireh Holistic Hotel is “an internationally recognized wellspring of wellness, where people go for physical, mental and spiritual recharging,” Escano said.

The holistic festival, with the theme “Advocating Filipino Natural Solutions and Holistic Practices”, Escano added, “will pay tribute to man’s success in finding solutions and systems to combat sickness and restore bodies and minds to a healthy state.”

Dr. Jaime Galvez Tan, former health secretary and honorary chairman of the festival, described the event as “monumental for Philippine health and wellness.”

Other speakers include Dr. Raffy Barozo, a naturopathist and homeopathist; Dr. Mia Ramos, president of Asian Social Institute; Dr. Rainier Villanueva, owner of Rainier Research and Laboratory; Cristy Ramos, former head of the Philippine Olympic Committee; Roy Alvarez of  Earth Renewal project; and Director Cynthia Lazo of the Department of Tourism.#
