15 outstanding leaders to be honored tonight
Fifteen achievers led by Archbishop Oscar Cruz will be honored tonight at the Star Plaza in connection with the 30th anniversary of Diwa Salita at Gawa, a Northern Luzon broadcast magazine produced by local publisher Ruben Rivera.
Cruz will be cited for his militancy in fighting jueteng and moral renewal campaign.
Aside from Cruz, the other l4 achievers are businessman Jose de Venecia II for fighting corruption, Public Works and Highways Sec. Hermogenes Ebdane for making the DPWH as graft-free as possible, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III for being the top cabinet official under the present administration and Usec. Antonio Villar Jr. for his successful anti-smuggling campaign.
Other honorees are Judge Clifton Ganay, Atty. Raul Lambino, state prosecutor Caridad Junio, TV newscaster Maki Pulido, fish culture scientist Westly Rosario, chief of police Dionicio Borromeo, civic leader and balikbayan Alfredo Dawana, entertainment mogul Pocholo Malillin, journalist historian Resty Basa and magazine editor Cesar Carpio.
Awards chairman Jun Velasco said the testimonial is meant “to spur government, career and talent workers to strive for excellence, leadership and high performance and honesty in service in a telling manner.”#
