Team Energy gives P5.2M for PSU research station
LINGAYEN–Team Energy, the operator of the Sual coal-fired power plant, is donating P5.2 million for the rehabilitation of the Pangasinan State University’s (PSU) research station in Sual town to enable it to identify which fish habitat is best along the Lingayen Gulf area.
Dr. Victoriano Estira, PSU president, said he is set to sign a memorandum of agreement with Team Energy, PSU and the provincial government led by Governor Amado Espino Jr. for the launching of the project.
The PSU research station, presently housed in its now dilapidated 2-storeybuilding, has long been non-operational.
Of the Team Energy funding, P2 million will be allocated for the rehabilitation of the building while the remaining P3.2 million will be for the training component.
The project will be undertaken within three years in cooperation with Tanggol Kalikasan, a non-government group focused on environmental protection and preservation and the local government units for the identification of trainees.
Estira said PSU, under his stewardship, will give priority to research and development related to the agriculture and fishery sectors. #
