St. Lucy’s is Urdaneta cage champ
The Saint Lucy’s Cataract and Laser Eye Center of Binmaley, Pangasinan, won the Urdaneta City Basketball Tournament held last February 4 and 5 at the Urdaneta Cultural and Sports Center, beating three teams in the winner-take-all tournament.
The Eye Specialists of Dr. Santiago Urmaza, Jr., bannered by players from multi-titled University of Luzon and Lyceum Northwestern University, beat University of Pangasinan on the first playing day, 114-93 then handed host STI-Urdaneta a 119-75 drubbing, and won over LCST by forfeiture to win the championship unscathed.
In the Martina Farm Invitational Basketball Championship in Lingayen, Pangasinan, the eye specialists swept the second round elimination by plastering first round tormentor Capitol, 108-83, Lingayen Selection, 114-84 then rolled past OLPDH 98-88 before handling the Jazy cagers their worst beating in the tournament who had to quit in the third quarter with the score at 83-41 to grab the first finals slot and will face either Capitol or Jazy who are locked in a winner-take-all match to determine the last final slot.
Saint Lucy’s Cataract and Laser Eye Center will also bankroll the participation of the Dagupan City PRISAA Selection, the defending champion in the ‘Panagbenga’ Basketball Championship in Baguio City. #
